Frequently Asked Questions
Parking:
Please lock your vehicle and do not leave valuables in vehicle. Park at your own risk, Faire is not responsible for loss, theft or damage to parked vehicles. PARKING IS FREE. Handicap parking is found in the designated ADA parking area.
Costumes:
Costumes (also called "garb") are NOT required; however they are encouraged. There are many wonderful vendors online and we have several vendors on-site ready to sell you their wares.
Other Characters:
While our faire portrays a 1500s Renaissance township and tournament, with all cast and crew dressed in Tudor-era attire, patrons are welcome to attend in their favorite costumes. We encourage a wide range of characters, from historically accurate to fantasy-inspired.
As our faire is a family-friendly event, we ask that all attendees wearing costumes ensure at least 60% body coverage, with no exposure of the chest, backside, or pelvic area.
Restrooms & Infant Changing Areas
The Spokane County Fair & Expo Center has multiple Public Restroom and will as Porta-Potties placed in designated locations at the event. This includes at least two Handicap Stalls.
Day Time Family Atmosphere:
The Spokane Renaissance Faire strives to maintain a family-friendly atmosphere; however, some performances on the main stages may be rated PG-13. A special area is designated for our younger Lords and Ladies, but child care is NOT provided. Parents and guardians are responsible for their children at all times.
For patrons 21 and over, we offer a tavern serving themed beverages. Additionally, our Night Fair is a 21+ event, featuring adult-oriented content, entertainment, and experiences. A valid ID is required for entry.
Weather & Shade:
The Spokane Renaissance Faire takes place in early October, making the weather unpredictable. We encourage both volunteers and patrons to dress in layers to accommodate varying conditions. Some years are quite warm, while others can be cooler.
Many merchants offer parasols for purchase, and there are plenty of shaded areas throughout the faire, including the First Aid Booth and the Tavern.
The faire is held rain or shine, and no refunds or rain checks are provided. Nearly all entertainment acts will continue in the rain, and many performers even have special shows designed exclusively for rainy weather!
Tickets & Fair Times
Tickets go on sale online every June and may also be purchased at the front gate on the day of the event. Purchasing tickets in advance allows you to bypass long lines and enter through the Will Call ticket booth for a smoother experience.
The Opening Gate Ceremony begins at 9:45 AM, and you won’t want to miss it! After the ceremony, guests are invited to join a parade through the faire before festivities officially begin.
The Spokane Renaissance Faire runs from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM each day.
Credit Cards & ATMS
Lady Visa and Lord Master Card are accepted at the Front Gate, Tavern and most vendors. ATM’s will be available for your convenience. Checks will NOT be accepted at the gate and tavern.
Leaving & Returning
During the Faire:
You are welcome to leave the faire and return throughout the same day. Make sure you DO NOT remove your wrist-band as it is your ticket back into the fun.
How much money should I bring?
The amount you may need to budget for the Spokane Renaissance Faire depends on what you plan to purchase and how long you intend to stay. It is similar to a traditional state fair—after paying the initial gate fee, there are no required purchases inside.
For general planning, we recommend budgeting:
-
$15–$30 per person for food.
-
Donations for performers, as many will "pass the hat" after their shows.
-
Merchandise ranging from $1 to $5,000, including a variety of unique and handcrafted items.
-
Children’s activities, which may cost between $1 and $15.
Lost Items and Separated Families
The Spokane Renaissance Faire has an Information Booth and Lost & Found to assist with misplaced items and separated family members.
If you or your child become separated, please go to the Information Booth, located near the front gate, where our staff will be available to help reunite families. The booth will be clearly marked with visible signage for easy identification.
For lost children, parents or guardians should immediately notify the nearest staff member, volunteer, or security personnel. Faire staff will follow established procedures to safely locate and reunite children with their guardians. We encourage parents to discuss a meeting location with their children upon arrival in case they become separated.
For lost items, please check with the Lost & Found at the Information Booth. Items found during the event will be held there until the faire closes each day.
Volunteering:
The faire loves to have people jump in and join the team!

Donation & Sponsorship:
We could hardly pull off such a large event without the community being involved! Whether sponsoring a stage, donating lumber or offering to help with our marketing costs, we need donations and sponsorship!

Performing or Demonstrating:
Performing your unique act for thousands of patrons or having a demonstration booth to teach about the renaissance times and talents is a great aid in our desire to be an educational outlet!

Being a Merchant or Food Vendor:
Merchants and Food Vendors make our marketplace magical! Whether it is ancient stones polished to a high sheen, horn cups in which to drink, garb to don or biting into a thick piece of yumminess, we are looking for unique hand-made period items in period-looking booths!
If you think that is you, fill out our vendor applications or contact us for more information.
Who is the Spokane Entertainers Guild?
The Spokane Renaissance Faire is an event presented by the Spokane Entertainers Guild but is run by a team of Directors, Assistant Directors, Managers and Volunteers who dedicate countless (and sometimes sleepless) hours to make this two-day event truly spectacular!
