Official Rules for Giveaways
Costume Contest
Contest Categories: Youth (Ages 0-11), Teens (Ages 12-17) and Adults (18+)

First, second and third place prizes will be awarded per category in each age bracket for costumes that display the most outstanding Quality, Accuracy, Effort, and Presentation. Contestants are allowed to compete each day but can only win One prize total for the whole weekend.

There will be 2 categories':

Period - Renaissance garb in the Tudor period 1485 - 1603

Fantasy - you favorite fantasy character

Costumes of all shapes and sizes are allowed: Nobles, Peasants, Superheroes, supervillans, princesses, puppies, fairies, pirates, robots, and Jedis are all welcome! The skys the limit.

Judges will be looking for the most imaginative, sparkliest, colorful, craziest, well crafted and creative costumes. Costumes may be homemade or store bought.

All costumes must be family-friendly and appropriate for all ages.

Nudity or any illusion to it is prohibited. All contestants must have at least 60% of their body covered with clothing- extreme necklines, bare chests are not allowed. Contestants wearing Mesh, sheer or other see-through clothing or body paint as a part of their costume must still meet the minimum coverage requirements. All contestants must wear clothing (shorts, skirt, etc) that completely covers their behind / pelvic area.

All costume contest participants must register or sign in for the contest by 1 p.m., each day at the information booth. The contest begins at 2:30 p.m. at the Braeburn field starting with Youth (Ages 0-11) group, followed by Teen (Ages 12-17). Adult contest judging will begin immediately following the youth/teen contest. Prizes will be awarded after each per category is judged. Must be present to win.

No open carry of firearms. Costume weapons must piece tied and meet weapons policy guidelines.

Spokane Renaissance Faire staff have the right to modify these rules on the spot to protect faire attendees and the safety of the event.

Cast, Crew and Volunteer of the Spokane Renaissance Faire and The Spokane Entertainers Guild are not eligible to compete and/or win any contest prizes.

Contest Guidelines

Contestants must register for the contest by 1 p.m. Sign up will be located at the information booth

Contestants enter stage, walk across the stage, strike a pose and walk back

Swearing, sexual humor, flashing, extreme political or religious statements or other inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated. Contestants engaging in such behavior will be immediately disqualified and removed from the event.

For safety reasons, no running, jumping, or acrobatics.

Throwing props is not allowed.

Awards will be presented shortly after each group. Prizes must be claimed on-site and winners must be present to win.

CONTESTANTS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY AND ALL DAMAGES AND/OR MEDICAL BILLS THAT MAY OCCUR AS A RESULT OF NOT OBEYING THE RULES.

All giveaways will be for 1 PAIR of tickets (unless otherwise stated) to the event described in the announcement.

Winners will be randomly chosen at the time described in the announcement.

Admins, staff, partners and sponsors are not eligible for giveaways.

Odds of winning are dependent on number of entries.

All giveaways are completely independent from any 3rd party entity or platform hosting information about the giveaway.

Winners will be contacted via private messenger and the winners names will be added to the will call list at main gate.
